Function
The Technology Center for the RIdIM project is housed at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Library . It has responsibilities in the following areas::

    • Designing, programming, and implementing the RIdIM database. This includes working with the Commission Mixte and the Editorial Office to ensure that needed functionalites are included in the database, as well as adding new features as needed
    • Setup and administration of the RIdIM Web site
    • Creating and revising system documentation
    • Working with the Editorial office - in particular the Chief Cataloger - on the evaluation and resolution of metadata and other content issues that come up with the database
    • Providing technical support for database users
    • Undertaking system administration and support of RIdIM servers and infrastructure

History
While the center was initially located at Ohio State University, it moved to Charlotte, North Carolina at the beginning of 2004. Since that time, it has worked with with the various subcommittees, advisers, and other officials involved in the RIdIM project to bring the RIdIM project to the Web.
